Pregnancy Dec-August 2012

From the full moon in November leading into the first week of December I knew I was pregnant.

I never got morning sickness, I was quietly happy having a little life growing inside me.  You were a perfect passenger!  I kept active, walking the dogs, cycling to work.

by week 22 I felt flutterings of movement, like butterflies.  By week26 I assume it was your foot always moving around on my right side, but I never tired of feeling it or watching my stomach move!

The midwives wanted to induce me at week 40 due to my age, I was convinced that we would see each other earlier if not bang on the 14th August.  On the 12th August I had strong pains, but irregular, but what worried me is that I could not feel the usual movements so I went to the Antenatal ward at Milton Keynes General, they monitored me for 30 minutes and advised I was probably having false contractions.

On the morning of 13th August I hadmy usual weak coffee and toast, suddenly an abrupt strong contraction, I had started regular contractions by around 10 ish, had a hot bath.. had a sleep... made myself and Andy (daddy) some lunch... rested on the bed and started timing the contractions

By 4pm I was having 3 contractions every 5 minutes so we called the labour ward and the journey started!  Dad drove us to hospital, we met my mum (grandma Farmer) went up to the labour ward, and was put in a triage room.  A midwife came and checked me over, said I wasn't dilated enough.  We all insisted I was not far off labour!  luckily my waters broke within minutes and they kept me on the antenatal ward.  By 9.40pm I was in fully established labour, by 9:51pm you were born :D
